During early evening ground operations at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., Feb. 12, 2009, a contingency from the 22nd U.S. Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) offloads to conduct a Ship to Shore exercise at an undisclosed location. Aircraft including Marine MV-22 Ospreys are refueled before continuing their missions, and a KC-130J Hercules tanker/transport from Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR 252), Cherry Point, N.C., is loaded with 25,000 pounds of fuel before rendezvousing with an aerial armada launched from a ship near Camp Lejeune, N.C., to deliver Marines for a mock raid on a training site at Fort Jackson, S.C.
