McEntire Joint National Guard Base reacts to 9/11
The 169th Fighter Wing based at McEntire Air National Guard Station of the South Carolina Air National Guard (SCANG) in Eastover S.C. is operating under Force Protection Delta on September 13, 2001. Force Protection Delta was implemented soon after the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington mid-morning on Tuesday, 11 September 2001. 169th Fighter Wing aircraft belonging to the 157th Fighter Squadron are in alert status and are parked on the "hot ramp" away from their normal parking area.
