McEntire Joint National Guard Base reacts to 9/11
Cold and dark on the McEntire Air National Guard Station flightline, a McEnitre F-16 taxis for takeoff on it's long flight to Moron AB, Spain. Members of the South Carolina Air National Guard (SCANG) deploy to an undisclosed location in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The SCANG personnel are the first Air National Guard personnel from South Carolina to deploy to forward locations in support of the "War on Terrorism". The SCANG sent F-16D, Block 52 aircraft and pilots from the 157th Fighter Squadron as well as maintainers and other support personnel from the 169th Fighter Wing. SCANG photo by: SSgt Robert E.
