169th FW competes in the 2009 Falcon Air Meet in Jordan.
An F-16 from the 169th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., parked in a hardened aircraft shelter at Mwaffaq Salti Air Base in Al Azraq, Jordan on October 28, 2009, loaded with two five hundred pound bombs to be used in a precision live bomb drop. The bomb drop is the last of several events members of the 169th FW, the Royal Jordanian Air Force and the Belgium Air Force are competing against during the Eager Tiger 10, Falcon Air Meet 2009 (FAM). F16 Fighter Pilots from all three countries are judged on timing and accuracy for target contact. The goal of the FAM is to train and work through friendly competition between the air forces of the U.S., Middle East, and other F-16 users from around the world. The meet was inspired by Prince Feisal Bin Al Hussein and first organized in 2006. A main goal of the competition is the improvement of the relationship of Jordan with its partners and the promotion of stability in the region. (SCANG Photo by TSgt.
