169th AMXS, Fabrications Flight
A1C Christopher Rigley, a non-destructive inspection (NDI) technician with the 169th Maintenance Squadron's Fabrications Flight at McEntire JNGB, S.C., checks water pressure and temperature in the tank that is used to rinse excess liquid dye from parts being inspected on December 3, 2011. Metal parts that need to be inspected for defects are first coated with a dye and then sent through a decontamination process to remove the dye then emulsified which will expose any deficiencies, making it possible to determine damage. The Fabrications Flight is composed of three areas; Aircraft Structural Maintenance, Non-Destructive Inspection and Aircraft Metals Technology. (SCANG photo by TSgt. Caycee Cook)
