The 169th Fighter Wing held an retirement and awards and recognition ceremony during the December 2011 Unit Training Assembly at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, South Carolina, 4 December. Recent retirees and their families were recongized for their selfless service. Active members of the 169th FW and SCANG were recognized for their Community College of the Air Force achievments. Chik-fil-A of West Columbia was honored as the SCANG's Employer of the year for 2011. The SCANG and Fighter Wing's ushered in their new Command Chiefs, CMSgt Lawrence Crowson the new SCANG Command Chief, and CMSgt Robert Davis the new FW Command Chief. Outing going command chiefs, CMSgt Mark Morrell from the SCANG and CMSgt Zane Wall from the FW were honored.
