Propulsion in the Hush House
A Pratt Whitney 229, block 52 jet engine is ran in full afterburner inside the hush house at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., March 2, 2013. The hush house allows jet engine mechanics to test F-16 engines without having extra noise pollution disturb base operations. (National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Jorge Intriago/Released)
