Are you eating the correct good-for-you fats?

Making sure you get the good-for-you fats (monounsaturated fats) in your diet will help to raise your HDL (good cholesterol) and lower your LDL.

Good-for-you fats include olives, olive oil, nuts, avocado's and seeds. My personal favorites are flaxseed meal, chia and pumpkin seeds. Keep in mind your unsalted nuts are high in calories so watch your serving sizes. Try to sprinkle them on your salads, yogurts and enjoy them in your cereal.

If you are looking for a healthy goal and have been considering more running as part of your fitness goals, here is your chance to make that all happen! With spring around the corner now is the time to get started. If you have been thinking of running a 5k or 10k, now you have the time to train and the perfect opportunity with the Foxtrot Warrior Run IV right around the corner, Sept. 7.

For more information, please refer to the Fitness link on our SharePoint. Go to the Wing Programs tab and then select SCANG Fitness Program.

If you are looking to increase your run time or just need to get started, an excellent program to follow can be found at the following link.
