Enjoying the Best Job in the Air Force
"What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes."
-James 4:14b (ESV)

For many years my Air Force career has taken me to various places. From loading bombs on the F-16, working on computers, and then pushing pallets onto a C-5. It seems like every tech school had the same agenda as they tried to embed in the Airmen's DNA, "You have the most important job in the Air Force!" Every career field instructor preaches about the importance of the Air Force Specialty Code in the Air Force. Usually the young Airmen with a new sense of pride would do their job with pride and satisfaction.

After being in several career fields, I finally figured out who has the most important job in the Air Force...everyone. The answer might sound like a cop out, but really everyone has an important job in the Air Force. The pilot cannot fly a plane without a fuel technician. The fuel tech has to be medically qualified, and everyone likes to be paid.

I suggest everyone try doing his or her very best. Enjoy your job and your co-workers. Life is very short, and our time working together will come to an abrupt end. I suggest we all enjoy the journey we are now on. "Your life is a mist that appears for a moment and vanishes away." So make the most of each moment and enjoy the time you have with your fellow Swamp Fox!
