Benefits of stretching:

· Improving athletic performance in some activities
· Decreasing the risk of activity-based injuries

Stretching can help improve flexibility, and, consequently, range of motion in your joints. Better flexibility may improve your performance in physical activities or decrease your risk of injuries by helping your joints move through their full range of motion and enabling your muscles to work most effectively.
Stretching also increases blood flow to the muscle. And you may come to enjoy the ritual of stretching before or after hitting the track or working out.

A healthy snack:
If you enjoy granola on your yogurt or cottage cheese, try making your own. It's super easy and you know what you are eating!

Ingredients for granola:
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup nuts and seeds of your choice (Flaxseed and chia seeds are great options too)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup honey (local if possible)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt (optional)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Thoroughly mix all granola ingredients in a large bowl. Spread evenly on a large, parchment-lined sheet pan. Bake 30 to 40 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Check after 30 minutes. If granola isn't golden brown, stir again and bake for 10 more minutes. Cool and store in an airtight container.
