Propulsion in the Hush House
U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Rick Morgan, a mechanic with the 169th Maintenance Squadron propulsion unit at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., remotely controls the throttle to a Pratt Whitney 229, block 52 jet engine from inside the test cab at the hush house, Mar. 2, 2013. The throttle inside the cab replaces the controls of an aircraft giving the ability to check and maintain a standalone engine. The hush house allows jet engine mechanics to test F-16 engines without having extra noise pollution disturb base operations. (National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Jorge Intriago/Released)
