Experiencing a personal crisis?
Suicide in the military has been at the forefront lately and the South Carolina Air National Guard's leadership has asked Ms. Mimi Meriwether, the wing's Director of Psychological Health, and Chaplain, Lt. Col. Brian Bohlman to develop a short video on suicide awareness.
The Church Gate, located off of State Road 40 from Congaree Road, will be the only access gate for visitors and commercial vehicles. Personnel with military identification will be able to use this gate and the Morrell Gate. Detour signs will be posted to assist drivers. This entrance will be open 24/7, except for inbound traffic only during the following peak hours 6:20 to 8:15 a.m. during duty days and 6:00 to 8:15 a.m. during UTAs.
The Morrell Gate will be open for personnel with military identification and for all outbound traffic during the Church Gate peak hours.

Who We Are & Our Mission Statement
The 169th Fighter Wing is the primary unit of the South Carolina Air National Guard and is located at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. The 169th Fighter Wing flies the F-16 Fighting Falcon, a single-seat multi-purpose fighter with the capability to fly at up to twice the speed of sound.
The mission of the 169th Fighter Wing is to provide world class combat capability to meet our nation's needs for contingency and general war requirements. Our primary federal mission is accomplished by employing conventional munitions in the Destruction/Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (DEAD/SEAD), while providing 24/7 homeland defense alert fighter response. Additionally, the wing provides to the Governor of South Carolina with defense assistance to the state's homeland security office and disaster preparation and response support for Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) activities.
