Welcome to the 245th Air Traffic Control Squadron. We are one of only ten Air National Guard Air Traffic Control Squadrons located throughout the United States. Our mission is to provide the United States Air Force trained personnel ready to deploy and provide Air Traffic Services for worldwide contingencies. You will find that the men and women of the 245th are highly dedicated and ready to support their state and country.
Daily we operate fixed Air Traffic Control facilities supporting the 169th Fighter Wing (F-16s & C-130) and the South Carolina Army Aviation Brigade (Apache, Blackhawk, Chinook, & Kiowa Helicopters). Additionally, training on our mobile equipment allows us the flexibility to provide Air Traffic Services from bare base environment. Members of the unit have served in Desert Storm, Operation Joint Endeavor/Guard (Bosnia), Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I challenge you to take the time to speak to members of the 245th about their role in our country's defense. You will find that they are enjoying a rewarding second career serving their state and country. The 245th Air Traffic Control Squadron continues the South Carolina heritage of military excellence dating back to the revolutionary war.
